Visas and Residency Permits

Visas and Residency Permits: Diverse Pathways for Different Needs

Cyprus offers several types of visas and residency permits to accommodate different categories of immigrants:

  • Short-Term Visas: For tourists or visitors who plan to stay in Cyprus for up to 90 days within a 180-day period.
  • Temporary Residence Permits (Pink Slip): Allows non-EU nationals to reside in Cyprus temporarily, typically for up to one year, with the possibility of renewal. This is commonly used by individuals who wish to extend their stay for work, study, or family reasons.
  • Employment Permits: Issued to foreign nationals who have secured employment in Cyprus. The employer must apply for the permit on behalf of the employee, demonstrating the necessity of hiring a foreign worker.
  • Investor Residency Permits (Category F): Granted to non-EU nationals who invest in property or businesses in Cyprus, with a minimum investment requirement of €300,000. This type of permit allows for permanent residency in Cyprus.
  • Digital Nomad Visa: Introduced in 2021, this visa allows remote workers to reside in Cyprus while working for employers outside the country. Digital nomads must demonstrate a monthly income of at least €3,500, along with adequate health insurance.
